Company History

• 1986 – Equator Information Technology was established
• 1987 – BECAS our original product was developed. The name is derived from Business and English College Administration System. BECAS ran on a PC network (LAN) using the MS DOS operating system (which was before Windows). Our primary aim was to meet Australian trust account requirements for student fees
• 1995 – BECAS version 1 was installed at over 50 sites including private and public Language and Vocational Colleges, schools and Universities
• 1997 – BECAS version 2 was released, the first version written for Microsoft Windows that used Borland's Interbase, a high capacity reliable and scalable SQL database
• 2007 – eBECAS (version 7) was released.

eBECAS has been designed to provide:

• One integrated “live” system used by finance, marketing and day to day campus operations
• Multiple or single campus / company system – enabling the sharing and updating by each campus centrally
• Merged and individual financial / booking / management reports
• High performance reliable transaction based scalable database / with “live” backups
• Tools for all staff members to efficently and effortlessly do their work

We are continuing to develop eBECAS to reflect the changes and demands of the industry.

Equator IT's vision is to provide software that was not only functional but also efficient for all users. With all users using eBECAS provides accurate and up to date classing, marketing, management and financial information.

Equator IT has listened and taken advantage of the vast network of Colleges that use eBECAS. Our College customers partner with Equator IT in providing feedback which enables us to continually enhance eBECAS to not only meet the industry demands but to anticipate future requirements.

eBECAS has been used for 20 years and is still the College software system that others strive to emulate.
